Numbers

I found this little path a few years ago in Joshua Tree, recently built. The Park Service had, miles from anywhere, created a kind of garden, maybe an acre or so in size. Along the path, they had picked out especially interesting "views" and placed short posts there and upon the posts had attached metal squares with numbers upon them in the reflective paint favored on their signs. There was no guide to what the numbers might indicate.
